1. Search Engines

You can generate leads through list building from Search Engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. 

Nowadays, we cannot deny the fact that most businesses have websites and social media presence all over the world! 


Methods: 

  •  Choose your preferred search engine. Ex: Google
  •  Type the keywords of your target market. Ex: List of Boutique Shop in "Location", List of Art Galleries in "Location", List of Advertising Agencies in "Location", etc. (You can play any keywords you'd like to use). Be specific to narrow down your search.
  • After the search result, you'll see websites from the top recommended on Google. 
  • Visit all of the websites to check out if there are list of multiple websites relevant to your search or if the website itself is a type of shop, art galleries or agencies you are looking for, you can add them now to your own list. 
  •  Now, go to about us/contact us section of each website.
  •  Copy the email address.
  • Paste on your own list. You can put them on Excel Sheet or Notepad. I prefer Excel Sheet.
  • Go to each website to copy and paste on your list.
  • Rinse. 
  • Repeat.


When I tried this method, this is one of the easiest way to collect Email Address for a specific target leads. Although, some websites do not provide their email address, I just send them a message directly on their contact us page.

This method takes time. It depends on the niche. I used to collect 300-1,000 email address for 4 hours/day. 


2. Online Directories

Many businesses are also registered on Online Directories but not all business websites are registered on online directories.

So, this is also a great way to add more targeted leads on your list.


Methods:

  • Choose your preferred Online Directories like Yelp, Google places and Yahoo.
  • Search for your targeted leads. (Don’t be afraid to be playful on your keywords).
  • List of websites will appear.
  • Visit each website.
  • Just like from the method above, Find the Email Address of the website then copy and paste on your list.
  • Rinse.
  • Repeat.


3. Craigslist

Craigslist has many ads on different industries and there are many crazy listings as well. I used craigslist when I was job hunting and sending e-mails for collaboration with companies from my previous client.


Methods:

  • Choose your Industry.
  • Choose Location.
  • You can also optimize your search on the left side.
  • Click all the ads that appeared related to your niche.
  • Copy the Email on the “Send Email” Button on the right upper corner of the ad.
  • Though, the email addresses appear in alternative way to protect people’s identity but you can collect them and it really works on Email Marketing.
  • Rinse.
  • Repeat.


4. LinkedIn Lead Generation

LinkedIn is the best on B2B Lead Generation. You can connect directly to the CEO’s, Presidents, Founders and Owners of the Companies.

How to Generate Leads on LinkedIn?


Methods:

  • Join Groups related to your niche.
  • Check out members and send them invitation to connect.
  • You can also promote your business on the groups.
  • Grow your connections.
  • Recommended sending invitation to connect is 50 per day. (Avoid getting blocked).
  • Be active on daily posting (valuable information) on groups to let them know your presence and it’s also a way for anyone to send you an invitation to connect. Let them know you exist!
  • Once you are connected with people, their email address will be visible on their profile and you can start collecting them and add to your list.


 5. Facebook

Methods:

  • Find your target market/relevant niche.
  • Collect Email Address on Facebook Pages.
  • Collect Email Address on Facebook Groups.
  • Collect Email Address via “Search” on search tab on Facebook.
  • You can also post on Facebook groups asking for their email address but you must offer something valuable for them or you can run contest/sweepstakes/giveaways so they’ll provide their email address. What an instant list!
